So, since yesterday I finally have automatic notification profiles set up exactly as I want them. It takes some effort (and a few apps), but there are so many options now I think everyone can have exactly what they want.

So for this thread: what combinations (settings/apps) do you use to manage your notifications?

I now have my phone set up to do everything automatically with only 3 apps + stock Settings. There is no conflict at all when using multiple apps, in fact they complement each other very nicely.
Standard situation: "Normal" profile, no vibrate, LED app controls LED.
Holster: Holster app changes profile to "Normal+vibrate", vibrate only for incoming calls/BBM voice/important apps(settings). LED app controls LED.
Face-down: Flip app changes profile to "Silent", LED app off.
Call connect: vibrate (LED app).
Custom contacts (Settings).
