Screen on my z30 looks purplish rather than black. Most part of the OS and Crackberry app too. Is this how Amoled screen are supposed to be?

I don't see purple. You'll need to take a photograph of the screen with a camera for it to show.

What OS version do you have installed? If it's 10.2.1.1055 maybe check the backlight as well as saturation levels?

Os 10.2 official. With full brightness now purple becomes more like grey. Lower brightness turns it into purple. Not sure about other settings to check back light.

Did you reboot or hard reset or reload the OS ? just to make sure its not a software issue. If its still under warranty go check it where you bought it let the person who sold it to you verify.

Is it brand new? It might take some time to correct itself. It is something to do with LED displays.

Yes. Brand new device. During daytime it works fine it's only during night time in the dark when the display has a purple tint to it.

Ive switched to z30 and now i understand what you mean...i think its normal, just amoled screen

I noticed the same thing on mine, brand new today. Turned the brightness up and it went back to grey.

Try out a great testing app called BBVE. BlackBerry Virtual Expert. It tests out a bunch of stuff on the phone...

This is amoled issue. This particular issue also happened on nokia n8 first generation when they are released. I though this is solved already with current amoled generation

Thank you anschab, but the problem is the os running is the stock 10.2.0.224. there is no such color settings. but before upgrading to latest software I will have to go to the store and check with the demo piece. will inform you soon,,thank you

Okay... It was only an Idea... This Whitebalance is since 10.2.1+
Take your Z30 with you and ask for replacement if you notice a difference.

I think he's right... He still has 10.2.0.XXXX and the feature is present since 10.2.1+
