Anyone managed to manually set up a VPN on a BB10 device? Trying to set up a Nord VPN on my Passport, but without luck, stuck at DNS error.

Also set it up manually on my passport and it's working fine. If you go on to the nordvpn website you will find instructions on how to set up with a bb10 device. Looking back on it I believe that I had to download a certificate to get it to work.

Hi guys, thx for the feedback.

I downloaded the certificate and followed the instructions listed on nordvpn web. Yet the connection fails every time with "dns failure" or "unknown error"

From what I can remember the server address and gateway auth ID must be the same. Also the certificate must be imported into settings. Hope you get it sorted.

Ok, problem solved talked to the support, apparently "https://" in server names was the culprit

I'm currently trying the following on my passport to setup a private vpn using my own linux server:
    - openvpn on the linux server
    - openvpn android application (no root needed) downloaded via f-droid app store.

I'll let you know any success / failure

    Best regards

Ok for the moment I did not succeed on this path .. the only reason for now is that I'm unable to share the client_certificate.ovpn from BB10 to the underlying Android ... maybe someone knows how to proceed ? maybe I should download an Android mail client .. so my client_certificate.ovpn file can be stored via the mail client to the Android private "filesystem space" .

Next try, I will compile openssl for BB10 via Term48 ..

Very little hope that all these tries succeed, cause I don't know what the underlying system will allow or not .. but funny to try

At least for me the app doesn't drain much battery. Seems that the NordVPN app is coded pretty good in that regard.

This is weird. The issue seems to have been with my UK service provider not my BB10 device (Suck it and see @blaze).

Bizarrely when I remove the sim (works fine in other phones) the Leap begins to work normally.

How could a passive sim be effecting a phone OS when dormant?

    Very strange.
