Not at all. Use any browser other than Chrome, or any number of other free apps.

Not really. Firefox browser can do that as well.
    And it's free.

Not sure about the other browsers, but it doesn't work with Opera Mini.

Agree. My fire fox browser continues to play video while minimised on my android. So much for real time , real time.

I got booted out of a Skype call once and on another occasion Calculator got shut. Important "must not close apps" get forced shut and thats the BB10 8 apps and no more issue.

How many Android users are going to root and hack their own device to get it to do those things? A very small percentage. Playing YT videos with app minimized and Active Frames are BB10 functionality that works out of the box.

The BB10 file manager has integrated cloud storage (Box, OneDrive, Dropbox) on the OS level. That has come in handy more times than I can count.

BB10 devices with physical keyboards have keyboard shortcuts that allow you to launch specific apps or auto-dial specified contacts with a single key press. They also allow you to more quickly use and navigate supported apps without having to touch the screen.

The Hub in BB10 is still implemented far better than the Android equivalent. It is constantly running "behind" everything you do, so you never have to wait for it to load. It can easily be accessed with a simple gesture and "peeked" without having to minimize an app.

There are more things I could list. But this is all subjective. One thing I consider an advantage another might consider pointless.

It comes down to personal preference. Every phone has its strengths and weaknesses. Each person has to decide which strengths they want and which weaknesses they are willing to live with.
Hey man , a couple of things...

BB10 doesn't have a dedicated YouTube app, so the BB10 browser is what's used. The browser that shipped with my OnePlus One plays YouTube fine, with the screen off. I can even use the hard keys on my device or bt headset to skip to the next selection.

The baked in file manager that comes with the factory OS, CyanogenMod is my official OS, doesn't come with cloud support YET, but does offer a secure partition. I don't use it. MiXplorer, which is the best file manager period, DOES have built-in or custom cloud support, so I don't need multiple cloud apps.

I don't have kb shortcuts, full touch here, but I can create an icon (blank or with an image) shortcut, like we could on BBOS.

Hub+, although not as swipe gesture functional, IS two steps ahead on android. There's a live widget for Hub, that I can make a custom panel for, and swipe to it. Check pics below.

I can't speak for other Android devices and OS, because of fragmentation, users tastes vary, but I will say that everything a user could have need for is baked in out of the box. It's a matter of which OS the user prefers and the limitations that OEM put in place.

Mecca EL - You said your 1+1 uses CyanogenMod as the OS. I thought it came with Oxygen.

In either case, do you get your apps from Playstore or another source.

How do the BB apps run, specifically Hub+.

Do all Android apps run on CyanogenMod.

The 1+1 interests me because of the need for camera and screen size. Just wish there was a 4:3 screen ratio

The OnePlus One originally shipped with CyanogenOS - the commercial fork of CyanogenMod OS. Hydrogen and Oxygen appeared after licensing disagreement between Cyanogen and OnePlus, but CyanogenMod will support it indefinitely.

I have the option of using Playstore, or deleting it and using either f-Droid, xda Labs, and xposed repository - which is a root ONLY app store.

I have the full Hub+ suite, and it all runs perfectly.

All android apps run on CM
