Ever since loading the new os 10.2.1. My camera won't use flash in the cold nights. It says low battery? Is it my battery or the Os?

Do you get a little red battery-crossed-with-a-flash icon in the corner? I only noticed this today (I'm on an official 10.2.0) when I took a picture after I finished clearing the driveway... I didn't need flash so it didn't bother me, but I did see that little icon.

How is your battery when you're testing? What percentage?

    Tip:

You'll get better results if you can tell us more about your phone:

    Carrier:
    Model:
    OS ver:

Also, what is the outside temp? How cold would you say the phone is? How long has it been in the cold at this temp?

The only thing that stops the flash is the battery level. If the os says the battery is red low it disables features. Nothing else controls this

Rogers, stl-3, 10.2.1.176, the batt power was at 80%. Yes it was a flash symbol with a batt symbol in it.
As soon as I bring the phone in out of cold, it's all good. I'm not saying I'm in the cold all day but a few minutes and it's not working.

The temp outside was like -5 c, phone was in my shirt pocket, the phone screen wasn't lagging at all.

Crap!! I meant to test this today. It's -12C so it would have been a good test. I'll try to remember to check it tomorrow.

I don't know how well my phone works in the cold. We're still between 50 to 70 degrees F here (10-20 C).

Okay, I had a chance to get this tested today. Temp was -10C. I held the phone in my hand wearing leather gloves, so there was little heat transfer and I exposed the phone as much as possible. It was in this temp for approximately 2 & 1/2 minutes.
I took 6 pictures in my trunk so it would fire the flash. All 6 worked (flashed) as expected -without any low battery errors.

    Sure, rub it in.

I really wish it were still 70F here!

Don't be jealous. I get to gloat, but it actually sucks. I always hated winter until I went without it. It serves a purpose. Without winter, you don't appreciate the summer.
