Please... battery drain because if the high cpu usage, pim services and system shouldn't use more than 50% of cpu at first, and later shouldn't use more than 20 % of cpu. higher than that, than its an OS fault, re install it will fix the problem.
Higher cpu usage causing the phone become hot too.

Stop saying get a backup battery etc. It is a well known issue.
Check your device monitor. Mine is like this on 2nd day after installing the upgrade (fresh install).

20% cpu usage shown is quite high, usually only for 1-2 seconds, then drop to <10%

I had the same battery drain issue after upgrading to the new OS. I pulled the battery and waited about a minute before reinstalling it. It seemed to be better, but, still had faster drain than the previous OS. I bit the bullet and bought Battery Guru to see what was going on. Now it seems to be back to normal.

I'm not saying that Battery Guru fixed the problem.

    Countless threads about the battery.
But, you don't think twice about buying a twelve pack of AA batteries for your other needs.( and not even the rechargeable kind)
And, when they need to be replaced you just THROW them away.

So, why the big fuss over your mobile device Rechargeable battery?
You keep back up batteries for everything else.

Get a back up one for your device. It's more productive than complaining !
I don't know if we're complaining (well some of us aren't anyway). But it's curiosity for me that prompts questions. I've never had extreme battery drains in any cellular device previous to BB10. Based solely on the theory of others explaining that the OS has to settle in for a 48 hour period begs the question.....why? What is so different occurring that it takes the OS two or some cases more days to readjust?

I had 10.2.1.1925 loaded on before taking an official update. Took over week for the battery to get back to normal. And now I take an update and I'm back at it again, having to charge my battery twice a day. That said, my phone is working completely fine in all other regards so I'll monitor the battery for another few days before trying some other mentioned solutions.

I had the same problem the first day then it stopped. Today I re-started the phone the normal way and now it started again! 50% CPU usage. I'll wait and see if it stops again but if I need to re-install the OS, how would I do that???

There is a problem with battery drain in 1925, especially standby battery drain. On the Z30 it's causing drain of about 1% per hour which is very high (should be about 0.3% per hour). This has cut down the useful battery life a lot. Please note that I have been running 1925 for a while now and have performed relatively extensive testing on it to try to determine where the excess drain comes from. Unfortunately, primary culprits are System and Standby processes, which do not provide any details on what is actually going on in the background.

The only way I know how to do this is to first back up your entire device, then do a factory restore using link or one of the available autoloaders, and then restore your backup. Sachesi may be able to do what you are asking without the need for a backup but for that I suggest you go read about Sachesi in the leaks forum.

I have a backup of it before I updated. I hope that Link can restore from that backup.

I should also add that I updated OTA. Maybe that was a problem. I seem to remember getting a 934MB update notice and that didn't take. I tried it again and it was 1.1GB update. That one did take. Or at least I thought it did. I'll have to try it again tomorrow and see.

Best way to save battery is if you have more than 1 email account have those account forward to one account and just add that account to your BlackBerry. You significantly save on battery and leave all the work to the cloud.

I did a wipe before and bricked the phone. In my experience with wipe, it just took a very long time with dissapointing result.
I did try to re install the OS using sachesi, downloading the debrick method, but the OS is somewhat corrupt, can't access Hub.
So I use autoloader, this method is super simple, just run the autoloader and done! I would recommend this method for anyone.
Just keep in mind that autoloader will wipe your data, excluding memory card, so backup first.
I hope this solution works for you all too, because this 10.2.1 is superb!

I'm as concerned as anyone about all the battery issues and so many different reasons for it.
After getting practically lynched in another thread, I checked out as many of the different reasons given to see if I missed something on my Z10
but, I kept coming back to the same conclusion.

So, I'll just share it with you. And this just what worked for me.
Now keep in mind that new fixes and updates become available as the OS is better fine tuned to work more efficiently and with each, you can expect it to use more system resources.
It was mentioned in another thread that firmware, etc should compensate for the problem and I definitely agree with that but... it's not compensating!
Anyway, (and this is just MY opinion and what worked for ME) the 1800 mAh battery that worked fine for the older, less consuming OS's, just can't handle the new OS especially with all the extras being loaded on to the devices.
So, I upgraded to a stronger powered 3800 mAh battery.
I started at 100% at 1:06pm today and have been on my Z10 for one thing or another pretty much all day and now at 7:14pm (6+ hours later) my device reads 81% with 1 day and 18 hours of battery time remaining.

I bought my Z10 the day it was released to market, have installed every single Leak made available and have never had so much as one issue. NOT ONE!!

If this helps anyone, I'm glad,
For those that don't agree, please restrain from tearing this apart and knocking it down, just because it doesn't work for you. It's unconstructive and helps no one!

Batteries can be replaced in the Z10 and Z30. I don't know about the other models.

After 3 days of letting it settle, my battery life appears to be at least as good as before, if not better.

Today, I got 17 hours of relatively normal usage (though not a lot of calls).

It's a Mugen extended 3800 mAh battery and comes with a back cover worthy of a BlackBerry.

It's pricy... but, considering the Z10 retails for about $400.00... I want the best. You can find much cheaper ones but only Mugen is considered as the brand to use for BlackBerrys.
And, the quality of the back cover confirms it!

My battery drain is due to PIM Services getting hung up. After the phone gets too hot to touch I have to pull the battery and when I check Accounts it says my emails are disconnected.

    Posted via CB10
I experienced the same PIM drain. It was running about 25 percent CPU for some time. I rebooted and it's back to normal consumption. Hopefully it stays that way.

Wouldn't a larger battery be too big for the phone? How would you get the back of the phone back on? Nothing against your advice, just enquiring.

Ok, I've turned push and sync off, I'll see if it makes a difference. Any other suggestions? Hopefully, as other posters say, things should settle once the phone has finished sorting itself out after updating - but didn't have this problem after updating from 10.1 to 10.2...
