Hello to everybody. I'm kindly asking to anyone who already have BB OS 10.3 or 10.3.1 onboard if he could check if there are new languages input options.

In particular I'm interesting about Ukrainian input language.

    Thank you in advance.

"KeyboMagic" supports Ukrainian, but it is just a workaround. Hope BlackBerry will be adding languages more aggressively.

There have been requests for Ukrainian-language input since the days of the PlayBook... RIM/BB has never responded to any request or otherwise shown any indication that would indicate them adding Ukrainian or Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, etc... They do find time and effort to add obscure languages though...

I had a look but don't think so, however perhaps I couldn't recognize it... how do write the word Ukrainian in ukrainian?? I noticed that many slavic languages are listed using their native language alphabet.

Curious, do most other computer and smartphone makers provide all these languages? Which are typically always available?

Yup they do. Straight from the get-go (initial release). Ukrainian, and other East European languages are available on every other current platform except for BlackBerry.

Written in Ukrainian it is: Українська

That said, and since I can't decipher what you wrote since your characters aren't recognized (see above), I'm assuming that BlackBerry has had minimal market share historically in the Baltic states. I live in Canada and I can assure you that Canada is a very multicultural society with citizens originating from too many countries to mention here, and I myself am of Ukrainian, Lithuanian and Polish heritage. However our 2 official languages are English and French, which I speak and write very fluently.

As far as eastern Europe goes, I know for a fact that there are so many dialects from country to country and I think that a smaller company such as BlackBerry likely has fewer ressources to work with and as a results is forced to make concessions. Rest assured that I do not work for BlackBerry in any way, shape or form, nor am I apologizing for them as they've made all sorts of poor business and product decisions in recent years.. let's hope that future biz decisions continue to improve as with John Chen at the helm and that BlackBerry once again becomes the best device for business. OS10 still has a way to go to convince me of that, but at least right now they are on the right track..."Stay Calm and Berry On" my friend.

BlackBerry is still not providing tamil as an option in language for some strange reason , but they already support tamil. If you change region to tamil, you will see certain things in tamil.

Fixed... Written in Ukrainian it is: Українська

Mobile providers in Ukraine have sold BlackBerry devices for a quite a while now. It is a big market (country of 48 million), but BB is the only platform without Ukrainian-language support on smartphones. Many ppl are asking for *just* input capability not entire OS translated, which wouldn't take that much of an effort to do, but still not happening.

That's the one thing that I've found to be an issue. BB doesn't seem to distinguish input language from language of the OS, hence "language of input" should be just that.

    Strange implementation on BB's part...
