As mentioned by now permanent CEO Mr.Chen at CES 2014 we are to expect a new "cool" high end qwerty keyboard device sometime this year.

Personally, I am feeling a lot of excitement for it because I am a qwerty fan. I have both the Z30 and Q10 and find that the qwerty is way to go at least for the enterprise market BlackBerry is now focusing their efforts on.

But saying that I do feel we will not be getting a top spec phone as everyone would be hoping for. I say this because this "high-end" qwerty is most probably their profit margin maker not the low end "jakarta" phone which will retail at USD200 and below and is made to claw back market share from the mass consumer market at break even prices for BlackBerry.

So what is the best we could hope for this new phone? Realistically im thinking a slightly larger/better screen Q10 with a better processor and slightly more RAM.

But I am harbouring hope that its gonna be a large-ish 1080p 16:9 phone either in slider or single slab format with a top camera. But I have doubts that this will happen as it hard to imagine wall street types having to "need" this phone.

How does everyone else feel about this incoming new phone?

If they can create an LS1-sized battery but double or triple in capacity, that's what I'll only need.

I've always loved the Torch series. I'd definitely consider buying a Torch-model BB10 device, with a screen size of the Z10 or Z30, and a slider keyboard much like the Q10.

Second that. I love my Q10 but I would like to see it grow a little in height and have more screen real estate.

A taller Q10 with a larger screen doesnt seem to be like a big ask. Most phones are at least 6-7 inches in height nowadays. The Q10 is compact and small which is good for some but since they need to make an impact a large screened qwerty would be really great.

3.1 inches it is now. At least 4 seems like the way to go. But not the way iphone implemented it with its weird not even HD resolution count.

A well designed large screened qwerty would stand out and if its stylishly built and well constructed it might make blackberry cool again. At least amongst the business/enterprise sector.

With all the large screen phones around the only complaint ive heard from anyone regarding the Q10 is its small screen.

And dont forget the enterprise sector average age is NOT young. They need larger fonts therefore larger screens.

Im my country the samsung note's are very popular amongst the 40 and above crowd and have seen many executives use them for its business features like s pen (hand writing recognition) as well as its huge screen real estate for not so sharp eyes.

Not to mention, im running 10.2.1.1925 on all my BlackBerries. Some android apps are almost unusable on the Q10 simply because of its small screen.

A Q10 with slighter larger screen wouldn't make sense for an upgrade at this point.

It has to be a slider.

Similar to in size and design to Q10
but with 1080x1080 high dpi screen moved up 9mm and slightly increased in size as it reaches closer the edge of the phone. The BlackBerry logo being removed from the fascia to free up space is now embossed and repeated around the side edge of the phone, the freed up space between screen and keyboard allows for the welcomed return of the trackpad! Processor speed and battery size only slightly increased but resulting in a 70% improvement in battery life.

Nah, the size is insignificant, doubling cpu doesn't do much since Q10 already smooth and more battery although a delight isn't a necessity since Q10 already does a full day.

I have a feeling it will be a ~ 4.2 inch slider with a new sturdier mechanism.

We want the physical keyboard but also a bigger proper format display. Battery might be a tad larger to compliment the bigger screen. I hope they stick with oled display.

Will prob be 3GB ram, higher clock dual core. I am hoping for 1080P display but prob screw us again and stick with 720p.

This phone will take Z10s place and Z10 most likely be phased out and Z30 form factor becoming high-end all touch phone.

Low end all touch will be taken over by jakarta.

Umm, No, this won't the Z10s place because this will be a physical keyboard phone while the Z10 is in another category.

I highly doubt that the phone will be a slider with a big touch screen, and maybe a 1.7 dual core, the battery will definitely get bigger.

Btw a 3.7 inch display isn't really small.

What's wrong with a slider? I'd really love a slider. It's the best of both worlds! As long as it's built with the same build quality of my Z

Lot of slider fans on CB and very vocal too. I too bought 9800 but moved to 9900 as soon as it came out. Like the screen real estate but hated the keyboard.

I have a Z10 and a Q10, like both depending on what I am doing.

    I would prefer a Q30 with a 4" screen.

    Tangier

4.2 inch screen. 720p. 1.2 Quad core. Adreno 330. 2500 mAh battery. 13 Mp camera. USB OTG, Miracast. HDMI 1.4. 802.11ac. Oh yeah, don't forget that glorious keyboard!

If this phone was priced at $500-$600 and marketed out the wazoo, I believe it would sell well.
