Excellent tip. Once we do, I hope this app or processes won't run in background. Am I right?

Enable parental controls, disable the app and exit. Go back in a turn off parental controls and exit once again. The app will try to reinstall (??) it's self. Deny the installation and put the icon in a separate folder labeled 'unused'.

It doesn't run in the background that way.

It got installed automatically after disabling parental control. It didn't prompt me to install

Did it ask for permissions after you turned off parental controls?

    Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwww

My battery life was somehow improved

I have unplugged charger at 8:20 AM IST today and now 2:23 PM IST. It means 6 hours so far. I have regularly used phone. I have 65% battery remaining . It means only 35% was consumed in last 6 hours. It was over 60% before. I'm on 3g as always

This is what all I tried, not sure which one worked

    1. I went to android settings->apps->all and disabled whatever I can(can disable almost 90% of the apps).
    2. In android settings, I have enabled developer settings. And then I have enabled 'Dont keep activities' and running processes to 'No processes'. I know it will impact android apps but I dont bother as I dont use android apps
    3. Using Playbook App Manager, I have uninstalled amazon (both store and app), help, tutorials, language packs(these occupy most of the space) and many others.
    4. Since last 3 days, I'm only charging my phone after switching it off. And I'm only charging when battery went below 10%

Finally, Im happy Problem was solved

    Thanks for all your help
I've just found your thread, and I also have a battery drain issue on my 4 month old Classic. And it's been a problem since day 1.

I don't have amazon set up, nor twitter, so they aren't an issue for me. But, I want to check out my 'developer settings' and can't find it. Where is it?

Android player and bluetooth show to be constantly using CPU and yet Bluetooth is 'off'. I can't figure out how to access Android player, nor what it's doing. I do not have location services on.

I'm pleased you've sorted your stuff out.

Please install blackberry ID app from cobalt and go to android setting from there. Click on build number 7 times in order to enable developer options.

Maybe around 8 or 9 hours or less depending on how much Bbm group traffic there is.

Just follow those tips, ur battery will last for 15 hours with single charge for sure

I have turned 2g only and used my phone regularly as I use always

I plugged out charger at 8:30 AM IST and now time is 6:40 PM IST.

It still has 65% of juice left

It means only 35% of juice consumed in more than 10 hours, which I cant believe.

Just follow those instructions, u will get double battery life for sure

I followed your suggestion and it definitely improved my battery life.

It wasn't bad to begin with, but the CPU usage in device monitor has gone down.

The system usage hovers around 3-4% when I leave the phone idle for a few seconds.

Thanks a ton for the guide. It has definitely improved my battery life eventhough android apps are unusable now. But, I don't care about the droid runtime and apps. The only doubt I have is wrt amazon apps. Even after uninstalling both the apps with playbook manager in chrome, why does it reinstall when I restart my device? I was pretty shocked to see that :-/. Is there a permanent solution to wipe it off my device?

My android apps still work as normal. Only difference is now they stay shut when I shut them down.

    Happy as can be.

I figured out why, I had disabled almost all of the apps in the settings. Now, I have just disabled the wallpapers and screensaver. The developer options has been configured as suggested. Now, I am able to run the android apps too. Thanks pal.

I cant figure out permanent solution to completely uninstall amazon apps. However, you can disable them via parental controls

I think its all fine as long as permissions are not granted though amaazon apps are installed. So, don't accept the permissions when you open these apps

Do u still wanna use android apps? If so, u can't disable all apps. Now u have enabled them back and android apps are again working fine. But u won't get enough benifit in terms of battery performance. Can u check cpu and post screen shot here
