I just bought a refurb BlackBerry Z30. It came loaded with OS 10.3.1, so I immediately downgraded to OS 10.2.1 so I could try out the apps that were dependent on Adobe AIR.

I grabbed the autoloader from here... BlackBerry 10 Autoloaders - BlackBerry Developer

The problem is the autoloader wasn't complete. I don't have pictures, videos, file manager icons. I'm sure many others missing. I tried grabbing an autoloader from Crackberry for Z30, but it's no longer a live link.

I love using Darcy's Tools, but all the Canadian carriers are only carrying OS 10.3.2. I can't find anything for OS 10.2.1.

Any help to get a full OS 10.2.1 would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

That is a Developer's site and only has Developer versions of the OS... that are not complete.

You can find a repository of full versions here http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...rchive-943672/

I'm not sure what version... but somewhere the started blocking downgrading, if you install a current 10.3.2 you'll never get back to 10.2

Thank you very much. That's a beauty site. OS 10.3.2 is the version which prevents OS downgrades. That's why I got excited when the device came with 10.3.1.

    Now the next magic question....

I tried the Google Play Store on this OS and not quite working. I expected this as Cobalt says 10.2.1 is not supported.

Now the question..... could I sideload a new Android Version from OS 10.3.2 and hope there's a chance of success? Is it strictly the Android side that could be the issue or something deeper in the OS?

If I choose to do this, what files do I need for Android runtime?

It won't work, I've seen it tried without success.

    Play Store or 10.2.1.

    It won't work.

There is no conceivable reason to not be on 10.3.2 or above. The number of air apps that are worth having are exactly 0.

Yeah, it's more about the theme. IMHO 10.3.x rocks but I like the looks of 10.2.x better. I wish there was a way to get that look back on 10.3.3

Not entirely true. Cover Grabber I like to get my album covers. Splashtop is also a good one. I can't seem to get the Android Splashtop to connect to my Mac anymore. The BlackBerry Adobe Air version of Splashtop still connects.

But that being said, if the Play Store outweighs the couple of Adobe Air apps, then I may have no choice but to upgrade.

Anyone seen battery life tests between 10.2.1 and 10.3.2? Similar enough to not worry?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm pretty sure that if you were on 10.2.1 and connected to the Internet, you would constantly be receiving update notifications.

Depends on the carrier. Some NA carriers make it "mandatory".

Have you tried the Splashtop app from Amazon Appstore? Works well on my Passport with my laptop and desktop win 7 and win10. Sorry have no idea about Mac.

This will prevent an update but: if your carrier is pushing it won't prevent the nag screens.
