I really, really hope this isn't the case in the final 10.3.1 release. If it is, I am seriously going to start shopping for a different platform. Flash is one of the huge selling points of BlackBerry for me at least. Tons of Flash content still on the web and more being created.

No real point shopping for another platform. None of the others support flash either.

To get flash on another device, it has to be android and you have to manually install it and use a specific browser.

    Via passport

Which you can do now with the android runtime anyway.

Maybe I should rephrase. If features that are important to me keep getting removed, then I have less and less reason to stay with BlackBerry and more and more reason to go to another platform that at least makes many other things easier. I already almost ended up going with iPhone 6 Plus, but the Passport convinced me to stay with BlackBerry once again because it is such an awesome device. However, if Chen and Co. keep taking my features away then I'm going to go away too. It's not because I can find Flash somewhere else. I've already been in this boat once when Sony removed support for Other OS on the PS3 and when BlackBerry disabled the AC3 codec following the launch of the Z10, the only device to support AC3. Not going to let this go a third time, BlackBerry or not. Flash better be back.

Why does everyone assume that the only legitimate use for Flash is for porn? Is this not getting really old? A ton of content is still Flash only, no HTML5 support. I browse a lot, hence I come across Flash content often. Sometimes I purposely switch certain video content to Flash from HTML5 because for whatever reason it runs better, or gives more control over features.

There are surprisingly many usage cases left and contrary to what many people believe, HTML5 isn’t a complete substitute for Flash, especially not for copyrighted media.

for copyrighted media actually it is a full substitute. html5 has all the DRM standards required to be a substitute. i think the only thing left for flash to be obsolete is audio as theres still no audio playback standard out there, only a draft

I too am dependent on flash for work. I'm a realtor and the mls system we use is only available in flash.

I've been told flash will be present in the final 10.3.1, I hope that's true.

In the meantime, while not native there is a work around. You can install Firefox or other third party android browsers and then install this apk: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/f...player_ics.apk

It won't restore flash to the native browser but it's pretty much the only work around for those of us who need it. Same process I had to follow to use flash on my tablet.

I don't technically have knowledge of the exact reason why BlackBerry is taking adobe flash away... but I can give it a tech geek guess:

Adobe stopped supporting it's mobile flash version since 2011. This mean they will not release any updates to their mobile flash to fix any bugs or security holes that are discovered.

I am guessing BlackBerry has made a decision based on security and not about limiting user's enjoyment.

But the above is just a guess. Who knows, flash could still come to a later version...

So what? HTML5 and Flash aren't mutually exclusive... You don't have to remove flash to have HTML5, well, until now BB10 had them both

Is there any problem if it is for porn? you never watched porn?

Have a look at this link about porn statistics:
    Get the Latest Pornography Statistics

    or this:
    https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/77...n-once-a-month

So as you can see, most people watch pornography, so flash is more than welcome

    Thanks.

While not native..this solution will have to do.
It is a shame that we have to to this, but I guess times are changing and so is the internet.

    Side story:
I sent a family member the link below to order holiday treats for a fundraiser for my kids school. Guess what? It was flash site and she had an iPhone and she could not order. Instead I ordered for her on my BlackBerry.

    (Flash site)

If you visit the site they actually tell you that the site is flash and not supported on safari.

Thanks BlackBerry for taking away another feature that we had against other platforms.
