Google maps can be better than BlackBerry maps in many situations. I consider it necessary, and use it at least monthly.

I really don't get why BB didn't use the existing openstreetmap data OSMand+ relies on in return for some millions for supporting the project.

Anyone looking at what you wrote originally even if they realized you were talking about Zimmerman's comments would likely not know what you were talking about.

Fairly irrelevant. He knew it's weaknesses, which were many. A different core was absolutely necessary, if they had any chance moving forward.

Martin Zimmerman reinstates that what people believed to be the BBOS is was mostly the JVM.

In regards to the Native Blackberry 10 apps and previous posts about JVM and JAVA in general, Android apps are programmed mainly in JAVA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Androi...re_development), (Why does Android use Java? - Stack Overflow) unless programmed in the fairly new, Ken Thompson involved, GO programming language [ https://godoc.org/golang.org/x/mobile/app , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_(pr...ing_language)] which would make it a different story hence the importance of leaving the Android apps uninstalled on the BB10. Notice the threads below opened on these issues? As stated at the opening of this thread which was opened way before the ones below were started. This thread was started 7th of JAN

Someone wrote in a post above that am doing this out of a principle more than something practical, the links above say otherwise.
Even the apps coded in, the BB provided, WebWorks framework have issues but that is another discussion.
