I have a friend with a Q10 that has this problem.

This used to be a common issue with early BB10 OS builds, but it's not so common now.

Regardless, I tried 2 different OS versions on her device and it didn't help.

So she may have a hardware issue on that one. Some people have found that putting a piece of paper or piece of thin business card on the side of the battery opposite the electrical contacts makes a more secure electrical connection and helps. I have not had a chance to try that on hers yet.

Does it happen when you set your device down on a table? Because if so that's probably a loose battery. Stick a business card or folded piece of paper between your battery and the phone or between your battery and the back phone door to fix it.
