I did a list of all the features that still work on my Passport.
    - phone: yes
    - texts: yes
    - bbm: yes (but who uses it, especially with today's announcement that you can't switch accounts any longer)
    - whatsapp: yes but not for long -> no
    - skype: doesn't work for me anymore.
    - GPS: as bad as ever. No.
    - browsing: get worse day by day. The experience is now comparable to using the 9900's browser. No.
    - facebook: nope

Bluetooth works sparadically if at all. Wifi sucks. Blend doesn't work. Neither does BlackBerry link. The file manager doesn't show files from my laptop anymore. Contacts suck and have always sucked.
The day has come. It's basically just a flip phone with an ok camera.
The only thing it has on my 9900 now is that it's less laggy and has better battery life. That's literally it.

How can they disregard their customers so much? I bought this freaking phone brand new less than a year ago!!

    9800 - 9900 - Playbook - Q10 - Z10 - Passport

It was already two years old when you bought it. We are now at three years and the company that created it can't make money on it so they had to stop supporting it. Time to move on.

Weird... here is the checklist for my Passport functionality:

    phone - yes
    text - yes
    bbm - yes
email - yes... hub is perfection and this is the winning point
    whatsapp - - - don't care, don't use
    facebook - yes (browser)
facebook messenger - yes, perfectly actually
Skype - who uses that? I have it on my computer, never thought of putting it on my phone
Browser - yes... no issues yet... I can read the news, watch videos etc
GPS - works fine, no issues
Google Maps - yes, no issues
File Manager - yes, works fine, connects to everything
    Microsoft OneDrive - works perfectly
    Twitter - yes
    Tinder - yes
    Instagram - Yes
    Kijiji App - yes (buggy)
    Waze - yes (slow)
Blend - yes, but now only on the local network, which serves my needs

It's still far from being a flip phone.

Blend and Hub are the only reasons I still push on with BB10.

I realize that the day will come when I have to move to Android. Right now it will likely be a Samsung, because they have SideSync, which would be my Blend replacement... but we will see what Blackberry does by the time that day comes. I'm not a big app user, so as long as my needs above are met like they are now, I can still push my passport on a while longer. Time will tell how much longer.

Not being funny but they released their first Android phone maybe 3 years ago or so and you knew BlackBerry 10 was already on its death bed so who's fault is it? Yours obviously and u really only have yourself to blame.

Man that sucks. I am not really having any of the problems. Well never used whatsapp, I guess the FB app would be nice. The messenger lite works well for me an android port. I get notifications. The browser is fine.. Is your IPV6 enabled and using just 5g? While they say Dual Band actually doing both at the same time is a pretty new feature most phones do not have. The passport has wifi AC 200Mbs. Try clearing some space or connect with a pc and get your software updated. Can use the phone as a USB with SD card even to another blackberry with the cable. I think it kind of sucks that BBM isnt more common I have started using it as notes and tasks with a device using another ID from an email Alias so they are actually the same email but diff BBM as to comunicate with the one plugged into blend at home. Plus they still have the PIN Messaging.

What is PIN messaging anyways? I've always wondered what that is on my hub.

I also use BBM for self notes.

I've never seen a flip phone with such a nice screen and keyboard for emails.

A year ago BB had already thrown in the towel on BB10. The BB10 experience will continue to fall further behind. That shouldn't shock anyone.

Even if you bought it less than a year ago it's a 2014 phone on a 2013 OS.

    No problem with:
    - bluetooth
    - Blend
    - GPS
    - Skype (yet I hate it because of high battery consumption)
    - browsing... well, a bit slower than at modern Android phones but touch keyboard is so handy for scrolling and zooming and reader mode is the best for my weary eyes.

What issues are you having with Skype? You can sideload the Android version of WhatsApp but as with just about everything that updates and uses the runtime, there's no telling how long it'll work for.

I have not had any issues with Link.

If the phone continues like this and doesn't loose any of the listed above, I could probably push it another year or two.

.... hmmm.... gotta find it on my phone, click new, add a title or whatever, hit save.... too many steps.

BBM is right on my hub... I send messages to myself (to a bbm on a work phone sitting on my desk at home on another phone)... and its just a quick way to write notes to myself with quick access right from my hub... nothing beats texting yourself!

Mine works great in fact the battery lasts almost as long as my K1 and the BB Hub works awesome, unlike my K1. At the end of July we had 7 K1 users in the office, as of Sept 1 we had two. Soon to be one cause I now use my Passport more and more.
