Won't happen. In fact in the EU they are forcing hardware manufacturers to standardize all these plugs to cut down on E waste. The micro USB will be around for quite some time.

Apple get around the EU legislation though because they never sell actual chargers. They just sell the cable.

Why? I've used microusb cables with my iPhone adapter and the 30 Pin with BlackBerry adapters. BlackBerry don't have to sell the adapter

I like industry standards and not proprietary connections you have to buy special cables for that cost more than anything standard.

Loose connection and low amp because of it.

Samsung have slightly tighter locking pins but even when using it on my z10 it can easily come out.

On the iPhone 30 Pin connector if I drop my cable the connector remains connected to the 4s i.e. the cable is pulled out the usb adapter and not the phone

There's nothing worse than needing to charge your phone and being stuck with deciding which of the dozens of micro USB cables to use and when you can't decide, having to throw down $2.00 to buy one.
It would certainly be much easier to not be able to find that proprietary cable and rather just go to the nearest electronic store to pay $30 for a special one.
