If your friend is happy, isn't that a good thing? The Nexus 5 is a good phone.

I own a Nexus 5 (Red One) and a Z30. There are certain things I like about the Nexus 5 but there is nothing that is overwhelming that makes me say it's better than a BB. However, there are a lot of things where the Z30 runs circles around it. Your buddy will come back.

But you have a BlackBerry wallpaper on your nexus, so you don't sound unbiased.

I too have used the Nexus 5 and the Z30 at the same time ( i even used cover full-time). The entire experience about the Z30 is superior. If you could imagine having the same level of BB services as Google services on a Z30. It would be very very hard to find a more compelling smartphone. One point to note, the screen on the Nexus 5 is worth bragging about. I now use a Moto X for testing and again, a nice device, but not premium in feel and the battery is mediocre.

    I own a Galaxy running 4+ and a Z10.

Z10 interface + Hub beats the hell out of Galaxy.

Seeing the picture reminds me why I hate android-phones - The idiotic tendency to make button that aren't there. Why do people still need hardcoded buttons and if so you might as well make physical buttons

It most certainly is. The problem is that tablets are not supported so you won't find it on the play store when you look on your nexus 7, but you can side load the app and it will work.

See icon in top left of the screen shot below.

Aside from the fact that no one even said Nexus 7, it certainly will run on there. Install the APK and you're good to go and KitKat support is there for handhelds. Runs on my HTC One just fine.

I know tons on people grabbing the Nexus 5. The price alone for an off contract phone with nearly top of the line specs across the board makes it a great buy. I've been thinking of getting one also. I mean for $350 how can you go wrong for what some consider the best android phone currently available.
I'm holding off until I see what BlackBerry has in store for the North American market and what the Oppo Find 7 has in store. Hopefully both are reasonably priced.

I like my N5 a lot, but it can't be my primary phone because it just can't make it past mid-afternoon at best without a charge. Other than that, it is completely awesome.

I have used Froyo, Gingerbread, Jellybean, and Kitkat. I have also used BBOS4, 5, 6, and BB10. They all have worked, to some degree or another, but I must say, I personally find BB10 to be the smoothest operating system FOR ME. In some ways it is too bad we cannot have greater market penetration with what I feel is a great OS.
