Z10 customer, but next upgrade tossing this phone, been a customer since 2005. When things don't work as advertised I try to fix it with Verizon tech support or BlackBerry support or just live without that function. Problem I have is when these non working or glitchy functions pile up for instance long press date to delete prior sometimes works. I like to keep a clean hub, why can't this work properly or at least work 75% of the time. Deleting by select is iffy too! (Z10 10.1)

what part is hit or miss? the actual selection? I noticed you do have to be precise where you put your finger

It is always hit if you hold on the date. Are you on 10.1 MR? I suggest updating the OS if you're not.

And always hold on the tiny bar with date.

Thanks for comments. I am precise on pressing the date, otherwise the warning option to delete or cancel prior will not pop-up. Version 10.1, the Verizon's roll out is what is installed. The long press is one of a few problems. I've had my gut in my throat a couple of times when my phone just randomly wakes itself up and all my media files and hub contents seemed to disappear and would show up a minute or 2 later, although I do backups/syncs every other day I don't rely on my Z10 as a place for my media. It's a shame because this is their best looking phone.

I would agree that the date bar is pretty thin and it is not easy to press and hold it accurately. A significant part of the time when I try to select the date bar I end up selecting the message below it. Not a major issue for me as I don't use Delete Prior very often.

Holy cow! Just tried it and it was surprisingly difficult to do. I share your frustration
OP. It took me like 6 different tries. Quite a hassle.

I agree it is tiny. People with larger thumbs should probably be on their wit's ends about this.

I'm not sure if OP just means it's hard to press the date...

For the record, I've had no issue doing so myself. Might find it slightly easier to do so with forefinger instead of thumb though.

Referring to the hit and miss it's 50/50 when I am able to select delete prior it will not delete all
