Hi, I've had location services turned off in settings since I loaded my last autoloader back in December. Just by chance I'm going though device manager checking on the effects of another app and I noticed location services running. Is there no way to have this off? And what apps could bypass the setting?

If you are worried about app you can check permission granted for apps and see what apps have access to see location and u can revoke permission from there..

It's possible that another app requested it being turned on and you inadvertently clicked yes. I highly doubt it went on by itself or another app enabled it without your permission.

Go to Settings > App Manager > Application Permissions and then change the drop-down menu to 'Location' to see which apps were allowed/denied access to location services.

But I don't have that should make any difference. Even if they have permission since I have location services off they should not be able to turn it on, should it.?

I think the only thing that may bypass the location services being off is the anonymous BlackBerry usage statistics.

This. The ones you likely enabled when you set up your device and long since forgot about.

Hmm. Good point. I usually decline those but it is possible I may have ok'd one unknowingly. I'll try pay more attention next time I run a autoloader.

    Thanks.

Maybe requested by Android apps, BlackBerry cannot restrict Android app permissions.
