Hello,

I just swapped out a Z10 for a Classic. On my Z10, I had it set up so location services were off unless I had certain apps open that had been granted permission (maps,etc.). This way I wasn't killing my battery or broadcasting my position unless I wanted to.

I can't replicate this in my Classic. Location services is either on all the time or off for everything. When it's on, I can still restrict certain apps from using it, but it's still on.

What am I missing?

You're missing being able to add Location to your quick settings menu and you can toggle it off and on whenever you like. That's what I do personally. Alternatively, you could go into application permissions and see which apps want location services and adjust accordingly.

On my Z10 I don't have to toggle. When I open maps, location services turns on (icon up top.). When I close maps, location services turns off (icon gone.)

This is what happens on my Q10 and Z10. You may have an application that is headless and using location services, or one that is using geo-fencing.
