    I'm so confused about why my phone says my location is in Edmonton. I live in Calgary. I type in the browser "sport check locations near me" and if gives me Edmonton listings. Says im 20km away. I type in Calgary locations and It says im 282km away.

    When I log into Facebook on my phone I get email alerts saying I logged in at or near Kamloops B.C., im 6hours away from there.

    Anybody know why this happens?

    Is this on WiFi and cellular or only one?

    I know a very long time ago on my Z10 it would say logging into my university WiFi (Toronto) would stick me in Detroit.

    I really shouldn't find this hilarious, but I do!

    I keep my location turned off cos I don't want hot spots and companies 'following' me as I go about my day. I want my privacy.

    You however want hot spot access and give location permission and can't get your location recognised.

    I'm not laughing at you, but at the situation. (I'm in Aus).

    It is strange that your location can't be accurately assessed, and could be a problem in an emergency scenario.

    I can't get the built in Weather app to recognise my suburb, or even suburbs close to me, and I'm in Sydney, and that bugs me, lol.

    Where is your isp routed through? I know mine is routed through a different city close to me and that's what my location always shows up as. Always seemed strange to me but didn't think much about it.

    I dont know where my isp is routed through. I just assumed it was from Calgary. It's the biggest city in the province

    Does a computer connected to the same WiFi network produce the same results?

    Does it also happen on a computer connected to a hotspot on your phone?
