My PC died and so I bought an iMac, so my question is how can I load the new OS 10.3 using an iMac? Can I use Google Chrome to get it done? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I believe the only way to load an OS with a Mac is to have a bootcamp partition or parallels running. If Im wrong someone will correct me

I use Mac's and I have VMWare with Windows 7 Pro and the autoloader will not work because it's a virtual machine. The autoloader will only work on a Windows based PC.

You do have the option on a Mac to install bootcamp and a Windows partition and install Windows that way, once you have it installed, you will now have a dual boot machine.

You can then boot up into the bootcamp partition and Windows will launch and the autoloader will now run on the Windows partition.

I would suggest finding someone who has a Windows based PC or laptop to use or go out and buy a cheap Windows based laptop like I did and install BlackBerry Link on it and use that to run the autoloader and to me is the cheaper option.

Lol, take the OS on a USB stick, and head to a local computer store like BestBuy and use a floor model. Install it, and then leave.

No sense buying a computer just for a leak.

Or like stated above by Backron, use a friend's.

There's also ways to trick the VMWare Windows into thinking it's an actual PC - I've had some success when I didn't have an actual Windows computer around.

I am interested in how you tricked VMWare into thinking it's a PC? Did you get it to actually run the autoloader fike?

I have a mac book, and I have always been loading the OS using Sachesi. It has it's advantages, it's non destructive.

sorry to remind you that the OP is talking about 10.3 that meaning an "Autoloader" .exe file and not a .bar file.

    Cheers!

It's called "Bypassing Virtual Machine Detection on VMWare Workstation"

I had the autoloader work, but I've only done it once.

You can learn how to do it here: http://www.unibia.com/unibianet/syst...re-workstation

Thanks for the tip, I will give it a try. In the meantime I am using Sachesi and doing the non destructive updates and so far, it's worked like a charm. Takes a little longer, but don't have the autoloader issue, which is fine by me.
