If your Z30 is working well with Link, we know now that your software environment is Ok. Does your Z30 and Z10 share the same BlackBerry ID ? If not, don't forget to sign in Link with the right one before connected your phone.
The solution to switch off the radio (airplane mode) can only "solve" your issue, if you have enabled Wi-Fi or Mobile Network in Link to access your computer files from the phone, by disabling this option and the sync over Wi-Fi.
If your Z10 works perfectly, you can start by going to Settings > BlackBerry Link and switch it off. Next, go to Settings > Storage and Access, set the USB Connection to Connect to Windows, switch off the Access using Wi-Fi and the USB Mass Storage.
Unplug your Z30 if needed ; in BlackBerry Link, sign in with the same BlackBerry ID you set your Z10 and close it. Now, using the same USB cable as for your Z30, connect your Z10 to the computer. Take a breath... wait... do you have a reaction from BlackBerry Device Manager ?
If not, got to Windows Device Manager and check if you have some device flagged with the yellow warning sign. Report to us.
If yes, BlackBerry Link must start itself. If not, start it yourself, wait and see if your phone is now recognised ;)
Thanks for everyone's input!
Update:
I called BBRY Tech support and they had me download the latest Blend package. Out of that we installed only Link and the updated drivers. Somehow the drivers for my phones had become corrupted on my PC.
Give this a whirl if Link kicks you in the teeth at some point.
Cheers.
