But seriously.... when has BlackBerry listened to customers problems or "wish list".

Agreed. It's most likely the network coverage or carrier.

But I get her point. No emojii support kinda sucks. Especially when you get a square and the person has to describe what its supposed to look like lol

It does have emoji support and shows when an emoji is received via text or email. The only thing is they dont have an easy way of sending emojis without some roundabout way.

Yeah I don't think they are necessarily professional but BlackBerry 10 already does have a set of emoticons of their own that aren't necessarily professional either. Also the fact that BlackBerry 10 already can read emojis, and that I don't think you should ignore a request that has been in place since even before BlackBerry 10.....ability to read and send the same emojis on Android, iOs, and Windows phones can.

Can someone please tell me what standard these emoji's use? If there is a standard, then everyone can get behind it. But if everyone does their own thing (my understanding of emoji's, at least in the beginning), you cannot expect it to work on all platforms.

Generally, when you want a company to implement something that someone else has, you quote the standard over and over and over. I've yet to see this.

There is only one Unicode standard (duh! it's a standard!). I'll assume you're asking which specific version of Unicode introduced emojis -- and that was Unicode 6.0. Unicode 6.0.0

I don't use emojis for the same reason I don't use Caller tunes, imagine my caller get to hear Neil Young 'Like A Hurricane' first and If am unable to take a call I message his BBM "Sorry I missed your call because I am driving, give me 15 mins to call back "::rollingonthefloor" emoji. Some lasting impression that is going to be....
