Loaded 811 radio on Verizon STL-100-4 and now hotspot connects. Would not connect on 1048 radio. Hopefully everything will continue to work with 811 radio and full 1047 OS.

That's because the 811 radio doesn't fix the issue.
The problem is not with the radio but with the settings app.
If the radio in the "about" is 811, you have 811 radio.

You can open it once every time you restart after using the tether once.

Interesting. I re-loaded 1048 radio and it does connect once after restarting to hotspot, but once hotspot is turned off it will not re-connect unless phone is restarted. At least in a pinch I can connect. Hopefully this will be fixed in next 10.2 release.

It looks like the Z version still has the settings app a work in progress. This is causing the wifi to crash. Remember that the OS is not a release version but a beta leak.

Do you have the autoloader? Can you post it.

Problem I noticed after some tests is that the inactivity timer does not seem to work. It will disconnect at whatever timeout I set, like 15 mins or 60 mins, regardless of quite heavy upload/download activity.

Not sure if others observe the same behavior on other networks? Or it is just me? Or it is just me on Rogers?

Edit: I already tried restarting the phone

To complete my report here, the performance I found with various options:

-Rogers LTE Vancouver, BC
-test using speedtest.net on a windows 7 notebook

1. Mobile hotspot - 13Mbps download/15Mbps upload, best performance
2. USB tethering - 13Mbps download/13Mbps upload, similar performance to hotspot, I think will save some battery, but need a wire
3. Bluetooth tethering - 1Mbps download/1.3 Mbps upload, disappointing performance, no wires, best battery

Verizon USA Q10 SQ100 tethering stopped working after .1047 then installed sideloaded old escreen and the option to turn off verizon tethering came back. now all is fine i can turn on and off with no problem and no fee paid to verizon

Well, I finally fixed my ATT STL100-3 using the e-screen method. All I did was turn on the modem and it worked. Granted I only get one per phone restart but it works. I can live with that until we get an OS that fixes permanently.

Are you trying using escreen? If so no need to change apn or manipulate. Just turned on modem.

Times out after about 15 minutes of connection while on battery and need to restart the phone to establish another Hotspot session. Interestingly enough, while plugged in to the charger, the hotspot does not time out, but still only allows one connection before needing to restart.
