I know the quote was pretty general, but I think Chen was talking more about hardware leaks than about the software ones. If someone spoils what the company is working on, it may kill the initial WOW effect from the keynote and the company might lose on shares, remember what happened on January 30th 2013? On the other hand software leaks help BlackBerry developers with bugfixing a lot when a horde of hungry CrackBerrians loads every new leak and reports tons of bugs that could have been missed by a limited amount of testers in the company. So I don't think what he said affects leaked OS

Can somebody test "Play to Cure" for me, please? It's available through Google Play (via Snap). It's supposed to be a "game" to help find a cure for cancer. It installs fine (on .2228) but when I open it I get "download failed because the resource could not be found". Having seen others report that Android games that didn't work before because of need to download data file, are working now, I am hopeful.

Not working when I just download and install it from Snap, says that some resources were not found. Does this game need any kind of obb/data files?

Yes it does, also the sound was improved, this new music app is almost perfect, just need the genere tab back and the eq and is donde for me.

Here are my battery stats so far since I installed the OS yesterday, disconnected my phone from charger at 7:28am, I just connected it a minute to sideload snap so it doesn't make any real difference.

When I take the first screen shot I was on 4G(H+) , using whatsapp a lot and listening music.





In the second I was on 2G and wi-fi, using whatsapp and posting XD




I feel that the OS isn't the battery eater that was reported, for me is almost the same performance as the 10.2.1 or even better.

I agree 100%. A leaked OS poses extremely little threat to BB. At worst, the leak will contain a yet-to-be-released device name listed somewhere. How many times do device names change before they're released? I'm looking forward to a more polished 10.3 leak or an even more feature-rich 10.2.1/10.2.2 leak. 10.3 seems like it's a very far-reaching OS and will probably not see a production release until way later this year or into next year. It's an enormous leap from 10.2.1 to 10.3.

Exactly my toughts to..
after it settled in , it is fine.
When idle , it really does not use much battery !
So pretty good for a 'first' build.

Great story, why are you posting it here? Do you think someone is hanging on to it until 100 people ask?

Cause with stl100-1 people asking and Q and Z30 people asking there is a ton of people that don't get the point that if someone had it they would release it

I got from full charge at 6 AM to about 20% at 1 PM, so not the best battery life, but I carry my BlackBerry Charger Bundle with me all the time so I can swap batteries, I'm sure this will get a lot better in later builds.
Also it's a huge RAM eater, I'm also regularly getting over 1,5 GB of memory used, which crashes the camera app. It's the most annoying thing on this leak for me, but again - it's the first leaked build, so I get it.

Anyone occasionally getting a message that the Camera cant be started due to lack of memory?

I tried force closing most apps with Device Monitor and the camera still wont work... the only thing that fixes it is rebooting the phone.

any other solutions out there?

Well, I made a new finding (for me) which I haven't seen mentioned in this thread (though I could have missed it).

Also, I never tried this on 10.2, so it may have been present there too.

Anyway, if you swipe down from the battery icon in the statusbar, you get a bunch of system stats at the bottom of the screen. Another swipe over the battery icon brings up a graph of usage stats. A third swipe removes it.

Anyone else caught this? Or has this been there forever, and I've never noticed it.

I tried taking a screenshot, but it won't show up in that. Here is a pic of the phone showing what I'm talking about:

I think this might be just you. I've not heard of anyone else having this issue. I can bbm my wife's iPhone 5 with no issues.

Well my battery life is poor.
No restore, fresh install and setup. Loaded on monday evening.
1 gmail account (calendar, contact, mail). Mail was set to 4 hrs, calendar and contact 30 min. Now everything set to 24 hrs (at midday) .
Additionally FB, Twitter, LinkedIn and whatsapp accounts.
Moderate use, few minutes on skype (testing). Very few android apps.

That's really weird. I'm not sure what to suggest to try and fix it. Have you done a hard boot by holding the vol up and down buttons until it reboots?

Something weird happened for me today! I was out all day, and my family kept trying calling me but all it said was my phone is either closed or out of service though I had 3G 4 bars signal! I also asked one of my friends to try and call me but nothing happened, it said the phone was closed. I performed a restart and it seemed to work and my phone was back to service, but now at this very same moment I am typing this, I don't get calls anyway or another.

Yes, it is stuff like this that makes these early leaks risky to use on your daily driver. Although saying that, I have not heard of this issue with this 10.3 release. I personally have not had any phone calling issues.

For me, it is blue tooth. I had Blue tooth working and then after a reboot it will not turn on again.
