Happened to me too. A couple of restarts fixed the issue though. Nothing to worry about.

After installing the latest leaked OS several days ago, my Z10 (stl 100 -2) suddenly died today and refused to boot up.

Unless you have something like a completely discharged battery it sounds like a catastrophic hardware failure. I would try a different battery if you have one available, or leave it connected to mains charging for 1 hour and see if it recovers before you go for an exchange device.

The consequences are that you'll lose any media stored on the device, all the data (including notes, bookmarks, reminders, browser history, cache, passwords) associated with your apps, and all the settings for email, contacts, etc. It's like having a new BB off the shelf.

The apps themselves can be restored via BB World, and if you have your contacts on Outlook or Gmail or some place, and if you don't mind re-setting up your email accounts from scratch, then you can upgrade a leak without a backup.

You can decide whether there's anything on your device you can't or don't want to bother recreating.

1) If I have a BES 10 account active, will BB Link backup keep all of these settings and restore all of my e-mails and resync with the server after the flash?

2) Will Android Sideloaded Apps restore with the backup after 10.1 is installed?

Androids app don't restore, you will have to reload them one by one. And for settings and emails, yes it will be there. You will just have to reenter the passwords for emails account for security purposes.

I'm on Verizon STL100-4...anyone else noticed their Location icon appears randomly A LOT since installing .1720? I've noticed my battery has been discharging quite rapidly since installing it...then I noticed the Location icon has been appearing without any application running...

Had the first few random reboots ever after installing this the first 12 hours, then super stable from there on. No issues now and even the apparently not so great Skype is working like a charm. So....hats of to life for the leak and If people have a problem with it they should not try it in the first place and wait a few days/weeks depending on their carrier.

Is there any way to downgrade JUST the radio? The OS itself is working great but having serious issues with signal/connectivity with the included radio in this leak :/ Dropped calls, no data (lower case letters ie 3g/4glte vs 3G/4GLTE) or constantly dropping down to 3G/1X when a perfectly good LTE/3G signal is available. Before the leak my Z10 would kick my iPhone 5's a$$ (I've got on a second line) for signal but not now :/

So yeah, is there a way to reload a different radio only (stock from 10.0.9.422 worked great) while keeping this OS?

1. Enterprise BES setting you can't get backup to your phone. You must ask a new password.

Thanks KenV54. I can afford to lose my records, the important info is on my laptop, I use Gmail and many of the apps I have downloaded,even some paid for, are not really up to expectation anyway. So I will proceed with 10.1.

Anyone update your VZW 10 Z to this latest one? Any issue with reboot and Corp BES 10 activation? someone mentioned 10.1.18xx will include major fixes. Should we wait? I don't like vzw's slow response. BTW, for VZW, I should download 100-4, right?

I've had this leak on my Verizon Z10 since Friday morning and I haven't had a single automatic reboot (at least none that I've noticed) since then. I used to get them all the time before. But YMMV. I'm just writing from my experience with this leak so far... and so far, I'm a pretty happy camper.

And yes, Verizon is running STL100-4.

I'm just curious--from which OS did you upgrade, and which phone (100-1, 100-2, 100-3 0r 100-4)?

I'm still on the fence about upgrading my AT&T 100-3 from 1627 (working very well) to 1762.

Been running this leak since Friday and its been very stable with the exception of a definite and troubling hub email lag. A kind of stuttering or a lack of fluidity more than any substantive slowdown. But I miss the smoothness.

About the Location icon it's cuz you most probably have Poynt app installed on your device, I had the same problem so did many others and uninstalled it and it went off and the battery started holding much longer!

I have been running this since Friday and was at a meeting today where I had the phone plugged in to charger--got a random re-boot. That is the first one I actually noticed although there could be others. Otherwise, running very well. Verizon stl 100-4. Also, noticed this included the updated Blackberry Maps.

Thanks for the leaked OS.

I successfully installed it but I couldn't restore my data and apps. It gets stuck at 18% restoring settings data, which is very weird and annoying.

My phone is locked to Bell Canada and I was running the 10.0.1.85 something os when I backed up the device.

Any suggestions?
