Hey guys, ive been using leaks since 10.1 MR.

I am quite convinced that 10.2.1.2228 (autoloaded then restored) has been the best for me as far as battery life goes.

The worst OS for battery life in recent memory was definitely 10.2.1.2141 which I upgraded to from 10.2.1.537 using sachesi.

Im almost afraid now to jinx it with the latest 10.2.1.2234 especially because it has a different radio which I believe is the main difference when it comes to battery life.

With. 2228 I barely has any "indexing" or "settling down" period.

Its quick snappy and very efficient.

Ive included a screen shot of my Q10 battery manager below.

I would like to read about how others on crackberry are fairing with 2228 and 2234 in regards to battery life.

I agree 100% the 2234 is great on battery life, also noticed it didn't take long to settle down after loading, no screen shot just plugged in. Later.

This is with modest facebook, email, and texting. Oh, and about 30 minutes of phone calls.

    I'm impressed.

I've had 2234 for about a full day now and I have to say I am happy with it. I charge my phone over night and unplug it when I wake up at 6:30. So far, with moderate emails, BBM, txt and 2 phone calls (total of possibly 40min). looking at the Device Manager I have 46% battery and it says 12 hours to go.

keep in mind I keep my WiFi and Bluetooth on 24/7 so they connect to my home and work WiFi as well as my Car's Bluetooth.

EDIT - this is using the full .exe auto-loader and re=installed my apps afterword.
    Cheers

I'll have to update. I'm on. 2141 and my battery life is pretty terrible.. thought it was because of increase usage of Snap2chat but I completely stopped for a day and although better, was still pretty bad.

I'll be updating tonight and showing my findings hopefully on Sunday!

Q10 here with 2234, battery life is quite incredible. I took phone off the charger and when on a business trip abroad for the day (roaming). I did all my emails on the Q10 (100+ emails, with 50 replies), plus 1+ hour of phone calls, and still had 35% left when I got home at 10PM.

.2141 was really bad for me too as I mentioned in the first post. I would consider loading 2228 or 2234. I think you'll be much happier.

Just strictly my observations (no device monitor graphs), 2228 was better on battery life.

Compared to 2141 or 2234? Sorry cause some of us were making comparisons to 2141

.2228 had the best battery life I had seen in the last several leaks/releases.

To specifically answer your question, .2228 was better than .2234, although .2234 isn't that bad.

2228 gave me worse battery life than any previous version but worked better, loaded the radio from 2141 and presto fantastic battery life and sweet running. regularly see 24hours with 25 % left moderate use

It's amazing how location/signal and config must play a part in this. My wife (Q10) is on 2228 and I (Z30) am on 2234, both with VZ, and have never had worse battery life. Her phone on 10.2.0 used to last 3+ days (granted she doesn't use it much) and now lasts less than 24 hours. Mine was good for 20-23 hours pretty consistently and now I'm down to 14-18 hours.

I may put us both on the official VZ releases to see if that makes a difference.

I find that using sachesi and the full autoloader makes a difference.

With the autoloader being more stable and having better battery life.

And yes I believe the radio is the biggest factor with OSes. Use the ones which suit your carrier best.

For those on 2228 or 2234, which did you use to install or upgrade the OS?

Recently I have been making a habit moving all media files into my SD card and deleting apps which do not contain vast amounts of data before I use the autoloader. I keep apps like remember and stocks for BB. And I believe this helps with the "indexing" period tremendously.

I used the .exe autoloader to load 2234 on my Z10. I also find using the Auto loader does have for some reason provide better battery life than just over writing the files with a non-destructive upgrade.

Wife's 2228 was autoloader, my 2234 was Sachesi. Both currently have (comparatively) terrible battery life.

Did you do a full restore? Were android apps installed when you backed up the phone?

I have the 2228 on my Q10 right now and ive never been more impressed with battery life than this version.

Used Sachesi to install .2228 and then used Sachesi to replace OS, Radio, and 3 app files to go to .2234. Both Non-Destructive, no restores.

Full restore on the Q10. One Android app (Fidme). Non-destructive Z30 upgrade using Sachesi.
