I've been noticing a lot of lag in the general os since updating to 10.2 a few months back. At first i thought it'll get sorted out through future updates but it hasn't happened thus far, and seems to be getting worse.

Specifically, many times when I swipe up for the home screen, the active frames will get stick halfway for a few seconds. Sometimes it happens when there's something else going on in the background, but many times its when I don't have a single app open and no background activities.

Similarly in the hub, I'll swipe to the left to get back to the home screen and the pane will get stuck a quarter of the way or half way, and just hang there a few seconds.

It's not a major issue per se, but it can be when you're trying to demo bb10 and sell someone on BlackBerry.

Hmmm, that is very strange. I am not experiencing this at all. DO you have any apps that are constantly running that have used up your system resources?

Was it the official OS update or a leak?

Might just be the version you are running. I experienced lag in at least one of the early 10.2 builds. All good now though on Z10STL100-3/10.2.1.1055

YES, lag has been bad since 10.2. Today I did a security wipe and reinstall but, alas, it made no difference.

Can't figure out what this is about?

I left 1055 as some apps were responding slowly , loaded the new leak 10.2.0.1809 this leak is very very stable and runs really smooth, best os that I've seen in a bit with no problems.

Yes!! Mine does this all the time. And it's especially with the twitter app or like while watching videos on the browser. It's actually really damn annoying. Like its taking bb10 back to its legacy days with the black clock!

The OS needs to be fast

Glad to know I'm not alone. Clearly this isn't a problem for everyone, which seems right, as I never had any problems with random restarts and such that some other ppl have experienced in the past.

I guess it's just a maintenance issue that'll be looked at once the bb10 team is done with adding new features. Hopefully it happens sooner rather then later. In the mean time im gonna delete unnecessary apps and media.

Did you restore your settings? Often, restoring settings from a previous install can wreak havoc with a new install. My 10.2 runs fine (same as 10.1), however, nothing runs as fast as 10.0.

I make it a point never to restore previous settings.

Yes, I did. Didn't want to lose contacts, etc. Is there another way to restore contacts, etc.?

You should use contactx it's fantastic app that backs them up on your SD card.

All my contacts are in Google and they restore automatically when I re-add my gmail account. I know for sure that there are relatively simple methods to save and restore contacts without having to save your contacts to the cloud though. (I can't comment on details however, since I never do this myself)

I have stutter sometimes but not this. I'm also not restoring and working in getting my contacts cleaned up so I can manage them with contactx more easily.
