Wouldn't it be that since there are less employees that there would be less dedication to updates? I would think there would be a lot of cuts in this department as let's not devote a lot of money to this if we're possibly selling? I know if I was selling my business I would have more concentration on other issues than lets update our product. Not to say there isn't anything going on there, but certainly not as concentrated?

it depends on where the cuts are. Some are bbos 7 and such, some might be support that they can farm out to other countries. I am sure some are cut from software development but it might or might not have a huge impact on updates

There shouldn't be any issues with the updates in the near future... not sure of the long term but I want BlackBerry to be there when I would upgrade to a newer phone... #BB4ever

Perhaps they only found the leaking pipe and fixed it.
Or Blackberry understood how useful the leaks are for community, to drive enthusiastic crowd and they'll come with a feature-rich update 10.2.1.1xxx tomorrow
I'm optimist, so the second option is my current hope

Not speaking for BlackBerry, but I know I've worked for companies having major layoffs and in some cases it made for a more efficient work environment. I didn't have to turn in TPS reports to 5 different managers any longer.

this, is why startups are able turn stuff around so quickly - less politics and red tape and more accountability.
