I upgraded to 10.2 yesterday and ever since when I open the Kindle app the brightness goes to a blinding maximum.

I go back to display settings and touch the scroll to get it to the level it's supposed to be on.

Is anyone else having this problem?
Any clues as to how to fix it?

Are you talking within the app itself? I can't find a brightness setting in the app. But if you mean on BlackBerry settings, mine stays on where I have it set to.

Not the brightness setting, the actual screen brightness. It just lights up, at an annoying level.
The only way to get it to normal is to go to brightness settings and touch the scroll.

Had the same issue, twice. As was already suggested an application reinstall is the only way to fix it. The last time it happened I was pinching the text to make it a different size and the screen light up like a flashlight. It's a bug, but that's the workaround for now.

Brightness seems OK on my Z10. Don't have to turn it down at all. Maybe turn the page colour to sepia so it is not as blinding if the white is too strong.

    Whoosh! Z10 in action!

OP is not referring to how it looks normally. It's a bug that pops up and goes from whatever your brightness was normally set at to full max (just in Kindle app). Only fix is reinstall app. This only happens sometimes and as I said for me it occurred when I changed the font size by pinching the screen. Not sure if thats the only trigger for this bug.
