Thinking about the plight of BB10 and it's dearth of apps...
We all know that native BlackBerry apps can be sideloaded, and Android APKs installed directly from downloaded files.
What if BlackBerry allowed native apps to be installed directly from the Web without the need of an app store? This could potentially spark a huge amount of interest from developers, especially those who are interested in porting their free, open-source projects across.
Either way, blackberry aren't likely to ever generate substantial revenues from their store - at least this way gives consumers a choice. And for many users, the draconian policies of the Apple Web store might be enough to get them to switch platforms, especially if it gives them more freedom to develop and create as they see fit.
Furthermore, it would be a great advertisement for the intrinsic security of BlackBerry 10.
What do you all reckon?
