BlackBerry browser has been crashing on me, almost daily. Seems to happen with embedded video on the page. Then minimizes window, and other open live tiles appear as if I rebooted the phone. Very odd.

    Anyone else experiencing similar behavior?

Native browser is Junk, and has been slowly degrading for a little while now. In fact, I ditched it for a 3rd party one months ago due to pages not being rendered accurately. I do believe that the browser is the one compromise I will not overlook. The day my 3rd party Internet browser/s becomes troublesome will be the day I actively look elsewhere.

I think it is a recurrent problem on some updates. The browser consumes too much memory and the systems decides to close it. I guess there are memory leaks in the webkit code they are using.

What pisses me off is when I loose my tabs! >

If you are using 10.3.2.2876 maybe you should downgrade.

It can get slow on me at times, but otherwise it's running fine on my Z10 on 2876. Certainly not seeing any "crashing". How exactly does it "crash"?

Works fine except when I have more than 5 tabs opened or too many active frames running. I think it's a memory issue; not enough RAM allocated for the browser.

Having multiple tabs open will cause my browser to crash repeatedly ... but only on some sites ... others are fine ... there seems to be no rhyme or reason to this ...

I'm testing out Browsie Browser from BlackBerry World.
    Anyone tried it out?

I would have never bought my Passport if it weren't for how much Browsie improved my experience when I had the Classic.

Block ads, disable javascript, suddenly things are faster and less headache. When you absolutely need javascript for a website, just open that page in the stock browser. Quality of life improves drastically.

Cliff notes: worth the money. All hail the Monoclonius!

Just use the app available in the BlackBerry World. I use it almost daily and it works perfectly.

You can also download an android browser like Chrome or Opera. They run fairly well on my passport. Opera has great data saving features.

Which version of Opera do you suggest? Is it consuming more data or battery in your passport?

I'm running version 24 of Opera mini. It'll probably drain more battery than a native app. But it'll definitely save you a lot of data

Passport browser suddenly started crashing a couple of weeks ago, for no apparent reason - could be on any site & even if no other tabs open. Does make you lose confidence in the device, knowing it could happen at any time.
Hasn't happened yet on my Leap.
Both running 10.3.2.2876 (as 10.3.3 hasn't come OTA to either phone).
