So, I go out of my way to buy a BB10 device from shopblackberry.com and I don't get the OS update IMMEDIATELY? Is the distribution of OS updates still dependent on my carrier? If I take the SIM out will it realize it's not a Virgin Mobile device and just get the OS update?

I would guess it will make its way back to NA at some point though.

Try removing your SIM, rebooting your phone, and checking for updates over wifi.

Really? Isn't this the update that now has the fix for the DT? Wouldn't that get pushed to all devices?

Probably. Eventually. It's just that once carriers approve an OS (which they had in NA - very recently), they are less apt to jump right on the next one.

Hopefully they will react more quickly than they have in the past.

The white one, still using software 10.2.1.3062 got update to 10.3.2.2474.
The black one, using software 10.3.1.1779 did�t get the update, even trying using BlackBerry Link.
Message says it has the last software.
Both using same carrier, Vivo.
Anything can be done to force update?

I haven't been getting my OTA OS update via the carrier though. It seems to be coming straight from BlackBerry since I bought my Classic from Amazon unlocked. Usually I get the update very quickly. Others locked on my carrier are still behind and not even on 3.2.

Puzzling.

Went without a hitch.
Flickering screen now gone - yay!
Also got updates for, among others, BBBlend and BBM.
The screen font and icon sizes have become bigger - better for older eyes.
Very happy with the procedure.

EDIT: Spoke before fully observing. Flickering screen is still there before it turns off but perhaps not quite as bad. I can live with it.

And we in the USA always at the last of the line! I got a Q10 with T-mobile, a Z30 with Vodafone-Spain and a Classic with AT&T and NONE are getting the upgrade! Grrr!

on my device it downloads quite huge package - 432 MB. When downlaoded and starts install ti consumes all free 2,5 GB I have in phones flash , and fails miserable as it still wants more space. Any adivses how to work this around ?
