Whatsapp never required you to setup a password?
Welcome to BB10... now might be a good time to crate a new WhatsApp account. BB10 has a great app for keeping all your passwords together. And make sure you use an email address that isn't tied to an ISP or Company account that you might not have access too in the future.

As far as I know, WhatsApp just asks for your cell number and then connects you. Maybe try uniinstalling it and re-downloading from the BlackBerry App Store.

The password prompt you are seeing is caused by the BlackBerry 10 OS, and sometimes happens when you upgrade or restore the device configuration from a backup.
There are two ways to get rid of it:
1) Actually install (from BlackBerry World) and configure WhatsApp on your phone.
2) Use a utility app like Accounts Cleaner (also from BlackBerry World) to clean up these stray "accounts" from your phone
