    The very final question is:
Could Apple make profit with an iOS Runtime for BlackBerry?

I think the answer is NO.
    Why?
apple has two ways of making money:
    1. ITunes
    2. Hardware sales

Apples cash cow is the hardware sector. They can produce and sell so many devices (mobile phones and Laptops / Desktops / whatever) that the production costs will sink with every device and the profit will gain!
ITunes is 'just' a good (real good) second way of earning money because bit binds the customers to an infrastructure.

Google is going another way. They are not earning the most of the money with their hardware, they are earning with services and infrastructure. Every time you are using Google.com, Gmail, Google+, Google translate, whatever, .. Google is warning money. So it is in their interest to make all Google services available to as many people as possible. That's why Android is (nearly) free and iOS is not available as a runtime in BlackBerry.(yet)

What do you mean 'official'? I doubt there ever will be a official iOS runtime of any sort

    Posted via CB10
Official as in being authorised by Apple!

For example, Android runtime is official and legal cause it's open source

Or just coder laziness and they left the files there lol.
Perhaps. The .lproj and .plist files are probably just leftovers.

https://developer.blackberry.com/nat...ios_intro.html is probably the extent of efforts to get iOS apps onto BB10.

It could happen and Apple can't legally block it. It would not be a runtime though. It would be a set of libraries akin to ".dll" files on windows PCs which would enable the iOS apps to call whatever OK functions that are available on iOS. Issues may arise with apps compiled to use instructions that don't exist on BlackBerry phones though but that could probably just be solved by using sufficiently old versions of apps compiled for iOS6 or 7?

I don't know but it's theoretically doable and legal. Problem is it would take a good chunk of resources to make work well.

Not going to happen, iOS is made for full screen devices, I think it would look bad on Qs and Passport and classic (that's besides all technical and legal issues)

Uh oh, you think Apple's "secret service" took him out?

True, it would be an issue.

All apple devices have the same aspect ratio, where Android devices almost all have different, allowing for them naturally to work on BlackBerry devices since most of them fit those aspect ratios.

It doesn't need to be legal. If someone out there in crackberry community can get some emulator/simulator/runtime to play IOS apps on my Z30 I would load it up and use it...SNAP isn't exactly legal as I understand it...and we use that...let's see if anyone out there can get one working and post it on CB...

Yup, it was real. It was also very unfinished and very unlikey to ever become anything usable. IIRC it only handled OpenGL ES anyway so was only good for games, which are the easiest things to port to BB10 anyway.

I think we didn't need support for the OS, we need BlackBerry os 10 to open all type os Apps, that will be great, so u will have all the markets in 1 device.
