Some people look them up on the Internet, save the image, then copy and paste the picture into the text.

I'm not sure how the 300 new ones were counted but part of the big deal is that there is diverse representation now. Instead of just white men and women, we now have black people, gay and lesbian couples, and other diverse emojis. I've attached a few.

I was responding to canu900. Diverse emojis were requested, so Apple implemented them.

1. If we don't, then outside people might think "Man, all those crackberry user's are chomping at the bit for emoji's!". The ones who want them would be like, "you can see, everyone wants them really, really bad!". So this is so Blackberry doesn't suddenly make this #1 priority.

2. I've asked a few people why they have iPhones. Emoji's never came up and I highly, highly doubt it would come up, even asking my teenage nephews.

Putting things in perspective, this should be a "nice to have", not "need to have".

The only person I know who uses emoji's is a friend on Skype, and he uses stupid Japanese versions (manga fan) that we always have to ask wtf he meant.

They DO have emoji's, just not as many. So they'd be surprised why you're asking that.

Please recognize when people give opinions, they are not fact. Nor should you assume what others will believe if you don't know the right answer yourself.

Those who are loudest, often get more attention.

Can someone shed some light on emoji standards? Is apple just first on implementing a new standard emoji, or are they still going the proprietary route?
