Hi Folks,
I have a doubt , is there a way to share the internet connection through USB from laptop to blackberry?
Kind of reverse teethering.
USB or bluetooth?

Oh I've heard of this before.....
Don't they call it wifi??? Except it's even better, no usb!
No need to be a sarcastic jackass. OP, as of right now I am not sure of a way. What exactly do you need to do that for? If it's for file transfers or something you can use bluetooth.

I tried with this option,
Just went to the lan properties of my internet connection in laptop and clicked on share to the ( blackberry virtual private network) and when i check in the device internet doesnt work .
Has something to be done from the OS end as well?
I should have mentioned,
virtual routers or hosted connections difficult since it will be blocked by my firewall.
Wifi would be ruled out.
Hi coldRooster.
not for file transfers i wanted for sharing the internet on my laptop to the phone without going through the hasles of wifi routers since most of it is blocked
Good one.
I notice you don't offer any assistance either.
If you knew anything....naaah, not going to go there....too easy
Here's the real question, why wouldn't you just use the computer to do what you need on the internet?
If the phone is connected to your computer via USB, it may as well be the computer because you can't go anywhere.
You really didn't think this through.
It could be possible to download a program that would allow you to run your computer as a hotspot that would connect to your phone via wifi. You wouldn't have to go through a router.

I had to ask him what he needed it for. Questions before answers, child. If you don't have anything to contribute to the forums without bringing other people down feel free to leave.

1. I'm not the one name calling
2. It's a silly inquiry. There is literally nothing you would need to 'reverse tether' for. Nothing. Not a single thing.
3. I assure you, I contribute more to these forums than you ever will.
if you're using microsoft windows 7+ and your wireless network adapter is not 30 years old,
1) Open command prompt as admin (win+x -> Command prompt (Admin))
2) netsh
3) wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=<yournetworknamehere> key=<yourpasswordhere,mustbe8lettersatleast>
4) wlan start hostednetwork
5) Open network and sharing center
6) Right click the network adapter which is connected to the internet, select properties
7) Switch to internet sharing tab and select the network that was created and has the name "Microsoft Virtual adapter"
8) Select all the services for sharing
9) Join the network on your phone
10) Voila!
I do not know if the BB10 NDIS driver supports data flow in the reverse direction via USB though.
Try connectify OP, it sounds like what you need.

1-I'm not name calling. I was stating the fact that you're acting like a jackass.
2- That's for the OP to decide not you. Sorry but you don't get to pick and choose how people use devices or what they need it for.
3- I hope to God you contribute much better in other posts than this one.

Alright we are going to stop the bickering right here and now. Both of you. Or I'll stop it and neither of you will like it.
In regards to the OP's question. +1 to whoever said Connectify. I've used it for this. Worked well. No router required.
To who ever said something like this would never be needed:
I was in Mexico, my hotel only hard wired LAN.. I wanted to use BBM.. hooked up my laptop to LAN, ran Connectify, hooked my BlackBerry up to the Connectify hot spot and voila.

Just saying but the mods should do a better job of dealing with people that are jerks on these forums. I apologize if I come across as "bickering" I for one just cannot stand to seeing someone pull down another human being over something they consider to be a stupid idea or question.

OK I stand corrected.
There is one reason this functionality would be needed.
My bad luc :) (who is a MOD btw)
Duuh, but he said via usb
Lol
Jk
Good answer.
Okay, there are a few reasons I would want to use my laptops internet connection on my BB. For one, if the laptops is connect to a lan via cable with no wi-fi and that's the only connection...just saying.
Maybe this software will help:
Virtual Router - Wifi Hot Spot for Windows 8, Windows 7 and 2008 R2 - Home
can anybody help me with this one.
Wifi is too far away. it's a desktop without wireless internet card inside so the solution to make a hotspot can't be used. Need some apps to run but need internet. 3G/4G is very expensive when you are abroad.
Any suggestions?
