    Looks like Direct Messaging was just added to the Instagram web client, works with the native BB10 browser!

    Does the Browser do notifications if it's closed?

    The native browser doesn't support web notifications unfortunately, I'm sure more people would still have BB10 as a daily driver if it did.

    Yep, no background notifications. It does show some notifications from web sites when it's running though.

    I've got an android phone with an app on it that sends notifications to my email. Then I can go to the web version on my Classic. Works pretty well and battery life is barely affected.

    They should work for long now, I can see (non true) notifications on the right but when I go to the inbox there is nothing. Hbu?

    I can compose a new message still.

    EDIT: deletet the cookies and logged in again, works now!

    Yeah, looks like you have to re-log in with the native browser when you want to check your DMs. Latest versions of Firefox and Kiwi Browser for android are working well and don't have that issue.
