So, If I had a chance to design a Blackberry device related to "Jakarta" model, referring to what I've seen the people's device around me or met somewhere else, this is my list :

1. (10) Price under US$200
2. (--) Battery life at least for 20-24 hours (only overnight charging)
3. (27) WiFi capability
4. (4) 2GB RAM ( to run BB10 OS)
5. (32) OS 10.2.1.xxxx for Android apps ( a ton of free apps)
6. (1) Full Touchscreen
7. (12) 4.5" LCD screen
8. (--) 5MP camera (back) + 1MP (front)
9. (7) 8GB Internal memory + SD card slot up to 64GB
10. (25) 3.5G (HSDPA) network capability (LTE not support here yet)
11. (30) No BIS
12. (33) Removable battery

PS : 1st number is for my priority order, 2nd number () is for OP's nos.

Feel free to list your voted items, I already had to do too much guessing with hawbman's post to figure out what he was voting for, so I would appreciate it if you would make your own, specific list so I can tally your votes. You can just list the numbers in the original post, ie "7,9,13,22" to make it easier.

Sorry to make you guessing a lot �

Bottom line is, BBRY could speed up delivery of Jakarta model to market by replicating Z10 internal design with new target of market price range. Leave the parts supply to Foxconn (the expert). Just focus on the external or casing design to make the difference with Z10.

LTE is coming... On December 2013, Bolt launching their LTE which I believe will soon follow by the rest of the Operators.
So LTE is a must, else I will buying my BB from SG!! BTW did you guys realize that Z10 STL100-1 compare to Z10 STL100-2 is totally different and STL100-1 suck in many way compare to STL100-2. STL100-1 poor in quality control and performance base on my daily usage. I own 100-2 and my wife used 100-1 so I know all about this two Z10.

So LTE is a must, else I will buying my BB from SG!! BTW did you guys realize that Z10 STL100-1 compare to Z10 STL100-2 is totally different and STL100-1 suck in many way compare to STL100-2. STL100-1 poor in quality control and performance base on my daily usage. I own 100-2 and my wife used 100-1 so I know all about this two Z10.

Dont forget that STL 100-2 sucks more battery too. But in other hands Roxy already have Z10 STL 100-2 Original Screen and Casing. But no spareparts for STL 100-1

I agree with this but think the battery should be very long lasting. I have lived in indonesia for work on and off for years but come from sydney. I find that for some reason in indonesia the battery life of the phone is reduced by about 30% compared to when I am in sydney for the same level of use...im guessing it has something to do with the network signal not being as strong, constant or reliable meaning the phone has to work harder to keep and maintain contact with the network...this has been the case for the last 3 phones I owned. including my new z10. So battery should be at least 2600-2800m for the new all touch screen phone...z10 battery in jkt lasts me about 5 hours max with average use, compared to about 7 in sydney

i will translate it and give my own opinion

to be honest BB company used to kindda unfair to indonesia :
* their BIS server stability in indonesia are worst very unstable than other countries
* they only open official after sales services after government force them
* they dont want to open their server to help indonesian government track corruptors, and terrorist (they open their server for indian government)
* put their investment to other countries while their main market in SEA is indonesia

now after they are fail on other market, they now trying to persuade indonesians back to Blackberry...today investment are from foxconn and they are still gonna invest in indonesia with or without Blackberry..

so i'm kinda happy when BB get a hardship...now it is samsung turn they are today indonesia smartphone king . i hope they dont make same mistake, their business in indonesia alone worth $1.2 billion in 2012..they already have mid size factory but i hear they are targeting vietnam to open larger factory in the future.

The indonesian government wanted BlackBerry to put their servers in indonesia so they could force blackberry to give the govt access to any and all information of all blackberry users. At the time the govt was worried about people accesing things like porn on their phones and controlling what they accessed. (corrupt politicians were NOT trying to make it easier for the KPK corruption body to track their corrupt activity at all) my question is, why would blackberry give the indonesian govt access if they didn't give anyone else access? The govt knew they wouldn't which is why they tried to force them by threatening to ban BlackBerry in indonesia. This back fired when the politicians realised they all used BlackBerrys and didn't want to give them up...classic..

They might have put a server in India but BlackBerry is famous for its security and not telling anyone their encryption details so I doubt they have given the Indian government access to their servers and their encyption details. There is a difference. Also I think BlackBerry trusted the Indian government more than the indonesia government which makes sense considering the indonesian government tried to threaten blackberry into putting servers in indonesia so they could access them....

Saudi Arabia has access to BBM too but Saudi Arabia threatened them to shut down BIS and that is a huge market so they gave Saudi Arabia access to BBM.

To sell even the low-end product in Indonesia, BlackBerry must provide most popular locally social media apps such BBM (of course), Facebook, Twitter, Line, KakaoTalk, Path. Second tier are LinkedIn, WeChat. Hangout and YM is not popular anymore here. Third tier might be Instagram, Tumblr. Without these, Jakarta will not sell. Trust me.

In other country, different apps might be needed. No need for SnapChat or Kik here.

You are correct, that is a well-known side-effect of being in a weak signal area - lower battery life because the device has to work harder to find and maintain an active connection.

When I travel in rural places where I know the signal will be virtually nonexistent or extremely flaky, I just turn the radio off to conserve battery power. I may turn it on if I have an urgent need to make or receive a phone call and hope I can get a signal temporarily.

Just wanted to note that BlackBerry's new CEO has stated that the price of the Jakarta will be "Under $200 USD", so this pretty much dovetails with the range that people suggested in this poll.
