but before you say anything, Neutron is JUNK!
Lastasy is worse.

the stock player in 7 worked fine. why not modernize its code base?

I use 'folder music', it replicates the folder playing ability of the bb7- media player and works with the media keys (i.e. pocket controls without using the screen)

1. it RAPES the battery.
2. it took me an hour to get it to import a folder and start playing everything.
by default, it insists on only playing 1 file.

i bought it, but can't get it to "play all" (my parent music folder, which has a hundred subfolders. it only wants to play a child folder).

Never said or thought that...

Classic doesn't have big horsepower so transferring a large amount of music files into Neutron might take awhile. I haven't experienced any unusual battery drain when using the app.

i noticed my battery draining at twice the normal rate throughout the day.

the site also has a port for Zing, but it seems sketchy; might not be the same thing.

What are the features that you are looking for? I'll tell you if you should give bamboo a try or not.
Anyway it's native, you can sort by players, genre, albums, it looks beautiful, and it displays lyrics automatically grabbed and synced while playing... lyrics feature can be turned off..

my main thing is that'll shuffle my entire music folder (SD card) w/o giving me a headache (the "music" folder has at any given time,100 or so subfolders, which breaks many players. or at least they make it difficult).
i want to point it that folder, not a scan, so it doesn't include my mp3 ringtones in the playlist.
no big battery drain (resource intensive).
cover art.
and a big perk would be if it displayed where i'm at in the playlist (not the actual track number, but, say, "34/80" like the stock BB player in 7 did).

yeah, i don't ask for much.

I have found the playlist searching to be quite buggy. Trying to get it to not see talk shows and to see all my music has caused me to have to delete it and reinstall it quite a number of times as it has no reverse mechanism whatsoever. Once you told it a wrong detail on where to search, you can't undo or change anything. The sound quality is amazing but it IT very buggy and has remained so.

I amazingly just made a long playlist using stereotube so it's a great option for that..
