I'm going to erase my phone and there is nothing I can do to prevent it. I turned delveloper mode on and of course, I was prompted to input a password. I entered "password" but I must have misspelled the same was twice. I burnt off 6 of my 10 tries now I'm in big trouble. Any suggestions?

Noooo. This is all my fault. how could I have gone so wrong and not noticed my mistaken spelling? How did I do it twice exactly the same. C'est terrible.

That was lucky. On my 8th attempt I got in using BlackBerry Protect. I locked the device and entered a new password.

Yeah there's really no workaround for not inputting the correct password.

When I set device passwords I make sure to have my keyboard set to "pop" the letters as I type. I do so slowly and make certain of what I input. If I have the slightest doubt I backspace it all out and start over.

    Glad you got lucky.

You should also back up your phone periodically. That way if you can't get out of this situation you could at least restore a lot of the data. Just some advice.

I back up my phone much less frequently now that BBProtect took a big step backwards and removed that feature. I had a backup and would have only been stung a little.

I am not sure but I think by using the BBP as a back door to resetting your phone's password you gain an unlimited number of attemps, as opposed to the 10 on your device.
