    Good question. You could get a SIM from a carrier that does updates (doesn't even have to be from your country but the device should have to be able to work with such SIM) or try SIM-less over WiFi. Since it's a unlocked device, it should get the update.

    Updates are not pushed by carriers. Carriers only approve the release. In your case, you will get an update when the carrier you're with does just that..

    sajko11 got it bulls-eye. I spoke to my sources at Corp/Enterprise tech support (Tier 2 and Tier 3) at TELUS and they told me that TELUS does not Push the OS updates, but Blackberry does.

    The service provider do not have the infrastructure to support mass pushes like that. They only approve the OS updates to ensure compatibility with network and stability.

    If you bought it factory unlocked just take out the sim and you will get the update
