For your purposes, the main difference between 700 and 296 is that 700 is a developer version. This means it has been released for app developers to test their apps against the modifications to the OS. That means it does not have all the functions of a full operating system. Big example is it doesn't ring when a call is received! The missing functionality can be fixed by sideloading files from other versions of the OS, but this, obviously requires additional steps and can be a little complicated. One of the members, Adam Szucs, compiled a set of the bar files needed to make 700 fully functional

So it all depends on your comfort level in loading a leak. If you want to just run the autoloader and go, 296 is your version. If you feel confident that you can handle the extra steps involved to make 700 functional, then go for it.

Not really 10.3.1 will come in November for all device, only BlackBerry Passport will run 10.3.0 in September.

After installing 700, you download the files in the OP of the above thread to your PC and sideload them to your Z10 using Sachesi, which you can download here (I recommend using version 1.2.1, there have been some issues with later versions):

Don't load 10.3 and expect everything to be flawless, there's a reason why it's dev's version. Not much of a difference at this point to say you have to have this OS.

LOL. I downgraded back to 10.2......lasted 3 days and upgraded back to 10.3.0.700 and installed .700 bar files. @OP, no reason to wait. Install and enjoy.
