I am extremely interested in the 10.2 software but being new to blackberry I'm a bit nervous. I was really into rooting android phones. Is it the same concept? Is it a lot simpler and if so is there ANY risk of something happening to my phone? My phone runs flawlessly and I have nothing to complain about but I'm incredibly curious about it because EVERYONE seems to love it. If I could get some help and some questions answered that would be really awesome.

Could you possibly link to one that walks me through everything I need to do. (updating your z10 100-1 for dummies). Lol. All I can find is people's opinions. Thank you for your help.

    ^^^ What he said
It's much simpler than rooting. You double clock an exe, it opens a command prompt like window. You don't touch it.
The phone's LED will flash green, then go off. When the exe closes, the phone will boot , and you're done!
BUT, please follow the link above. It will guide you step by step what to do Not to mention there's an entertaining video instruction
