There was a BlackBerry Q5, BlackBerry Q10, BlackBerry Q20, and a BlackBerry Q30. Yesterday, a very interesting thought came to me about the BlackBerry Q15 and Q25. What if..... Just what if they were actually real? What would they look like? What would their specifications be like?

The BlackBerry Q15 was particularly difficult to envision given that aside from the Q20's toolbelt and incrementally larger screen, it is identical in terms of processors, cameras and everything. For this reason, I would imagine that it would just simply be a Q10 with an 8.8cm screen like the Q20, but without a toolbelt. The system-on-chip and other internals would naturally be the same as the Q10. This means that the back plate would be taken off to remove the battery, insert the SIM or microSD card.

The Q25 is where things get extremely interesting. Given that the BlackBerry Q20 and Q30 have drastically different form factors and processing power, how exactly would a BlackBerry Q25 slot in between those two? At first I imagined that the Q25 would have the Q30's form factor, but with a toolbelt. That would not make sense, because that would make it superior to Q30. So much so that it would become a Q40, especially if it were to be equipped with a Snapdragon 810 SoC. Most realistically, the Q25 would have its screen size increased from 8.8cm to 10cm, bringing it closer to the Q30's 11.4cm. Rather than having a flagship grade Snapdragon 801, it would make use of Snapdragon 400. A decent step up from the Snapdragon S4 Plus in the Q20.

If the Q10 and Z10... and BB10 had been successful, not sure they Classic would have even existed. The Q20 would have been a very different phone. In the end SLABs would have been the focus and PKB the afterthought, but maybe they would have considered going retro with a more Classic phone anyway.

BlackBerry had a long development cycle.... I'm sure they had a number of things planned for 2014 and beyond that we never got to see. They did build most everything on that last Roadmap that I saw.... the U10 (became the Z30) and the R10 (Passport). B10 never did make it to the light of day.... would it have been the PlayBook2.
