Anyone understand the rationale behind adding the hub icon in 10.2 given the easy gesture access to the hub from any screen.

Some people prefer an icon. Now you have both options.

And if you don't want it you can delete it.

The hub icon takes you to the top of the hub. Swiping to the hub takes you to where you left off last. Just sayin

Thanks for the responses. No complaints, just curious what the value would be.

I actually find myself using the Hub icon, because it takes you to the top of it instead of where you last left off like someone else said.

I get messages from a number of different sources, so I find this very handy. Neat little implementation.

    Hi at all,

I deleted the HUB icon from my home screen. Now I would like to have it back there. Is it possible to restore it?

And another question: Is it possible to create a home screen icon for instant access to different sections of the HUB, for example my email account?

    I have a Q10 on 10.2.0.429

    Regards
    Martin

Adding home screen shortcuts to specific portions of the Hub isn't possible yet (I don't think).

And yes, how do we get the Hub icon back if we deleted it? Didn't know it took you to the main of the Hub and not where you left off!

I deleted it too, but it reappeared when I did a forced nondestructive update using Sachesi to 10.2.0.1803 .

OK just found a good reason for it. Facebook messaging in the hub is acting up. When I try to activate an existing conversation the screen goes black with Nothing on it. I can only get to the home screen but not back to the hub. BUT when I go to the home screen and tap the hub icon voila we back. So there is a purpose.

Now, if we could get a dark theme for the hub, that would be awesome!

I'd prefer a black theme that works first.

mine actually stopped working and now when I click on the hub icon it takes me to the last place I was. A lot of people at my work were actually waiting for this feature. (Actually they wanted an email icon) but you can pretty much make it work like that anyways. Except it's not working now. Anyone else notice this. I'm on a Z30

The reason I liked this feature is that it is a one click solution to see if I have new email I want to read vs making 1, 2, 3 or even 4 movements by swiping. Can't understand why some people don't see this as being better plus way faster.

I never used to find the hub icon useful because I never really found the hub to be that useful (I always go into the different accounts individually), until now. Now that there's the pinch Hub to show all unread, I find the hub much more useful and pleasant to use!
