I notice all the naysayers have gone quiet now. Internal BlackBerry sources are now saying Adobe Flash is gone for good from the BB10 browser.

I'm not one to say I told you so but.....

if Blackberry is no longer supporting Flash player in future then that's not a problem
we use the BBC I Player app, oh of course it's a browser link to the site and requires
flash player a catch 22 situation, at present i can access almost any flash site with a few exceptions
that need desktop agent, then developer mode desktop and success, and the playbook
can go anywhere on the web, as for sites not accepting Flash 11.1 in the near future i have
many devices using Flash 10.1/10.2/10.3 and still working ok, and the native browser is one of the best and designed to work on BB10 while others are not, so to carry on watching BBC I Player and many other UK Tv catchup services, my choices are do i update my Z30 and loose Flash support or stay put and keep it or use good old Playbook, third one use my Windows phone which has apps for all major UK Tv services, but if no app then cannot play media, so having Flash on Blackberry BB10 makes up for not having certain apps, Flash is not going away yet and loosing support is not the best news lets hope it's not being dropped.

That is great news as I sometimes use bbc iplayer. I know it is now using html5 but it doesn't work on my passport unless I have flash enabled.

Just noticed this on 10.3.1.2072 and it's great news.

I thought the BBC had made the switch to HTML5 a while ago but BB10 phones weren't white listed as compatible, forcing the Flash version to be used instead. Maybe the Beeb finally got around to acknowledging BB10 phones exist.

Although Blackberry has removed Flash support on their new Classic handset running an updated version of the Operating System (OS), we did an update before Christmas to cope with this and iPlayer should still use the flash player where possible, so it should all be fine even if you have manually updated your software.

i just don't understand why adobe flash has been remove. Many Canadian programs can only be seen with adobe flash. I can see them on my playbook, but with the new browser on my blackberry Z30 I cannot see the clip of the TV program. Blackberry should have provided the option to add the flash mode and remove it if we don't need it.

You can always download dolphin browser for android and get the Adobe flash apk. It will allow flash videos within the dolphin bowser once both are installed. I'm sure there are other browsers that work the same as well.

Read post #58 of this thread.

The BBC made it possible to watch the HTML5 version of the iPlayer videos instead of the Flash videos on BlackBerry 10 phones with 10.3.1. Lucky for us!

BBC. I-player works now without flash.

I'm pretty sure it will work on any version of os 10, I'm on 10.3.0

On a downside you can't play on hdmi out full screen like I recall before.
This seems to be a problem with the bbc site, I found other video streaming sites that will hdmi out full screen.

There seems to be a change recently with bbc site.

    Don't know if it's related,
Getting a lot of this the past few days when articles contain video:
Turning Flash off seems to be more reliable!

For anyone suffering from the lack of Flash in the native BB10 Browser on other websites this looks like a good native solution:

Well, you are very lucky, because I have that os on my Q10 and iplayer is NOT working. It was just fine prior to the os upgrade. Fortunately my contract is up soon and I have finally had it with BB after 10 or more years. After all the promises that they would not do stuff like this to us, I will just have to learn to use a touch screen for typing.

Ah, after some fiddling and reloading dear old BBC is back, except for The Archers which still requires flash. Fortunately I can use Radio Catchup for that, otherwise I might have lobbed my Q10 into The Thames.
