    If you type something like this:

    Please send me the .xls file

    You will notice it automatically puts the period in the wrong place, how can I change that? I dont see it as an autocorrect option.

    You can't adjust that behaviour AFAIK.

    Personally I would just drop the dot altogether, the meaning is clear anyway.

    If you must have it, just create a word substitution mapping xls to .xls

    Delete the auto corrected dot and write again .xls this time it will not auto correct.
