I've been reading a lot about messenger security. This last year seems to have exploded with all kinds of messengers, not just WhatsApp. All do the same things, but there is a lot of talk about security. And I've been reading about "Signal Messenger", and Signal technology.

I wonder.... Blackberry has always been the best at security, but just how secure is BBM in this day and age? Both as a BB10 user, as well as cross platform?

Is it still the most secure?

BBM does not use end to end encryption, so BlackBerry could provide information to law enforcement if they deem it warranted.

If you want end to end encryption, you have to pay for BBM Enterprise.

Other messengers use e2e encryption for free, but how robust they are is up for debate. For example:

I think that should be fine.
The connection to/from BlackBerry's servers should be encrypted.

Only BlackBerry can decrypt the messages with regular BBM.
