    Hey guys,

as we all know we're not supposed to delete the amazon appstore. But I guess there are ways to do so.

I used search and found an advice with re-installing the apk file from browser before getting permission to delete, but this update of the app didn't work for me.

Is there a secure way? Or do I need to use autoloader? Never used them with BB10 and quite unsure...

    Using Classic with 10.3.3.

    Thanks!

I used Ghost Commander to delete it.

    ..but..

It will reinstall itself after a reboot.

Important thing is DO NOT CLICK or OPEN it. Doing so will activate the damn thing and it will continue to run in the background.

So, once you delete it and after a reboot when the app icon shows up, place it in a desktop folder as far away and hidden so you don't accidentally click it.

Best you can do is disable it with Parental controls. And like Jamaa said, NEVER open it. Because only an OS reload will make it go away once you actually open it.

Sounds kinda intrusive for such a "super secure" OS, but whatever.

That worked for me two years ago and never got an Amazon Store at any of the following OS updates.

Yeah you can disable with parental controls and that virtually locks it down.

You can also close it from Settings => Device Monitor => CPU => long press on the app => Close.

It will stay closed until you open it or use an app that calls it, or until you reboot.

I do the same with all Android apps I don't use. The only thing you can't close is the Android runtime itself, unfortunately.

    Yep.

It's a standard feature of the OS in every BB10 device. You just have to dig for it.
